Rwanda Emmanuel Rusatira is a coffee from the Muganza washing station in the Kizi Rift, Nyamagabe, grown at 1,700-2,026 m a.s.l. by around 250 smallholder farmers and processed by Emmanuel Rusatira's Baho Coffee. The Red Bourbon lot goes through an experimental anaerobic fermentation followed by slow 'Mountain Dry' drying on raised African beds, giving it a complex, lightly alcoholic character with medium acidity. On filter it opens up floral and tropical with melon, mulberry, and orange wine notes, a honey-malt sweetness, and a clean cocoa finish; on espresso it turns syrupy with lively tropical-fruit acidity and a long dark chocolate aftertaste. Imported by Mare Terra, roasted omni-style for both filter and espresso.
