Kisunga comes from the Virunga region of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, near the borders with Uganda and Rwanda, an area whose terroir suits fruity, heavy-bodied coffees. This lot was processed at the Virunga washing station and carries distinctive notes of black tea and vanilla. It's part of a broader resurgence of Congolese specialty coffee after decades of disruption from civil war and plant disease.
