Barahona, from the southwest of the Dominican Republic, is considered the country's finest coffee and is sometimes compared to Jamaican Blue Mountain. By legend, the region's coffee lineage traces to a Frenchman who kept two royal seedlings alive on an 18th-century Atlantic crossing by giving them his own drinking water. Full, sweet body with very low acidity and a lovely aroma.
